The last time I visited Medellin, a lively city surrounded by mountains and jungle, we were walking around at night, hearing music coming from all the clubs and bars, and I was imagining how when everybody would be gone, the jungle would come crawling back into the city, taking back the concrete, like some kind of wonderful apocalypse.
This image led to Las Defensoras, a song dedicated to the defenders of wild nature, often indigenous women and men, risking their lives for speaking truth to power.
