Collignon's debut full-length sound travelogue "Lagoinha" witnesses the growth of a singular voice in the world of contemporary electronics - running the gamut from exotica-informed recordings to broken beat, Latin-inspired drumwork, via deconstructionist bass motifs and Afro-Caribbean grooves. A serious trip for the senses, bound for soothing sub-tropical boogie on white blankets of sound and down crystalline coves, "Lagoinha" invites us to cast off for an uncharted volcanic island where the warm scent of rum and sun-streaked swing of steel pans entangle in one glorious symphony of sorts, uniting all continents through its all-embracing maelstrom of sonics.
